Please HELP!

Kaia is about love and fighting for life, Coach Tiff (owner of Kaia Fit Davis, Folsom and Walnut Creek) and her family need us.  We are brainstorming  ways to help raise money for medical bills and living expenses. If you would be willing to ask each of your Kaia girls to donate just $2.00 we would be able to raise thousands. Let’s spread the word and do our best to help.

Tiffany’s niece who is her “source of happiness”, the absolute love of her life is very sick with Pearson’s Syndrome.  Taylor was born in Feb 2011.  As soon as she was born, she was blue and half of her body was not moving. They took her straight away Danielle and gave her two blood transfusions that night and hooked her up to 100% oxygen. And in the hospital she stayed for the first four weeks of her life.  Months went on with continual doctors appointments, blood transfusions every week, countless doctors appointments and no answers. Her blood was studied by some specialists and they determined she had an extremely rare disease called Pearson Syndrome. This is from the internet:

Pearson syndrome is a mitochondrial disease characterized by sideroblastic anemia and exocrine pancreas dysfunction. Other clinical features are failure to thrive, pancreatic fibrosis with insulin-dependent and exocrine pancreatic deficiency, muscle and neurologic impairment, and, frequently early death. It is usually fatal in infancy. The few patients who survive into adulthood often develop symptoms of Kearns-Sayre syndrome.

It is caused by a deletion in mitochondrial DNA. Pearson syndrome is very rare, less than hundred cases have been reported in medical literature worldwide.
In the past week or so, Taylor has been extremely ill.  She is too weak and in too much discomfort to eat, walk, talk, let alone open her eyes for too long.  It’s heartbreaking to see this beautiful, tiny little girl like this, as well as to imagine what her parents are going through right now.  They’ve been staying every single night at the hospital for a week now, and were just told they need to stay for at least another week.  She now has a feeding tube and is being given life through machines.

If we can pull together our Kaia love and spirit, we could easily pull together the funds to support this family, because the last thing they should have to worry about right now is paying the bills as their only precious child is fighting for her life.
